Livelihood

About The Program :

Since the beginning of the armed conflict, communities have been suffering from crucial economic conditions resulting from internal displacement, immigration, unemployment and dispossession of lands and properties. In view of the prevailing economic situation, Jafra Foundation has considered livelihood program in order to support vulnerable communities in achieving sustainable development through empowering youth by developing and running capacity building trainings and courses beside small agriculture projects in hard-to-reach and besieged areas.

A number of training courses on volunteer work, project management, civil defense, emergency management, Sphere guidelines, disability support and sensitivity, psycho-social support and social media have been organized, as Jafra prioritizes building the capacity of its volunteers in order to deal with the serious tasks and responsibilities involved inside the Palestinian camps. Trainings are organized in cooperation with international organizations, in Syria, Lebanon and other countries, and they are a prerequisite for volunteers in order to acquire greater role in the Foundation and be responsible when dealing with the affected population.

In addition, Jafra Foundation conceives small agriculture projects as means of attaining self-sufficiency economy in light of the present dire economic situations through employing efforts of communities as well as the agriculture environment in the hard-to-reach and besieged areas.
